I think I'm finally getting into the groove with this whole website creation thing. I've been learning lots through just trial and error tinkering, as well as browsing Neocities looking to see what exactly is possible. (The answer is a lot is possible. Like. Literally anything, really.) I've definitely benefitted most from learning how to matryoshka doll divs to create more complex looking layouts. I've also learned the power of subtle background textures to help give pages a more polished feel.

Using this knowledge I recreated my site's landing page. I'll post the old version here for archival's sake. Baby's first homepage and all that. But yeah I can just so very clearly see how the original, while it had good bones, was lacking a certain something when it came to the design. Not enough detail or intrigue. Too samey.

I'm really excited to start working on more involved pages now that I kind of know what I'm doing. I want each sub story's landing page to look distinct, to very easily give you that story's vibe up front. And to achieve that I'm prepared to do some cwazyyyyy stuff ehehe. I do worry about mobile accessibility though. I really do want to use this website as an almost extension of my art and get weird and experimental with it, but I don't think all of that will play nice with mobile. I might have to create mobile only versions of my pages?? I'm unsure. For now I want to just do what feels cool to me and once the product is finished I can poke and prod at it to see how to make it play nice on smaller screens.

But yeah, that's it for now! Going to be busy setting up pages and getting the bones of things going.
